Sculpted for The Perth Mint by renowned US engraver, John M. Mercanti, the coin’s reverse portrays the wedge-tailed eagle with outstretched wings. Reflecting its formidable hunting skills, the artistry highlights the bird’s large and superbly effective eyes and a large, hooked beak.

The outer rim and image are gilded in 22-carat rose gold. Included on the reverse is the inscription ‘AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE’, The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, and the coin’s weight, fineness and 2025 year-date.
